Blue Acre is a registered charity in Old Windsor, Berkshire. The 42 acre site is home to over 50 beautiful rescued horses. Many of the horses have experienced mistreatment requiring the team at Blue Acre to teach them to trust people again through their hard work and dedication. The results are truly amazing as the horses are keen to interact with our photographers. It is not unusual to feel a nudge in your back as you line up a photograph as another horse wants your attention or having to zoom out as the horse you have focused on comes to check you out.

There are many different areas in which to photograph the horses including open fields, a wooded area with small trees, the river bank as well as the paddocks and stables

If the 50 plus horses are not enough there are 2 pigs, 2 goats and numerous chickens, turkeys and ducks to photograph, not to mention the wild birds including buzzards and red kites.

There is a strong group of volunteer helpers who can be found at the site every week of the year whatever the weather. Blue Acre relies on these volunteers as well as donations to continue this vital work, so if you are inspired by your day at Blue Acre why not sponsor a horse or give a donation.
